A November to Remember...I hope!!!
It means a lot to me that you're taking the time to read this. It really does...it means you care and that's worth something. I moved to Goochland county in 2002 from Henrico...right off Springfield Avenue. My daughter Hope was getting ready for kindergarten and I wanted to move to the country...to a place similar to where I grew up. A lot of people that I spoke to thought we were crazy to leave the Henrico county schools for Goochland but it just felt right to us. It was by far the best decision I made.
We fell in love with the county from the day we moved in. From our mail carrier introducing herself to us, to eating at the Tanglewood Ordinary and having to take an IOU because we didn't have cash or a check we knew right from the start we made the right choice.
My daughter received a great education which set her up for a successful experience at James Madison University. Her mom was welcomed as a teacher to Goochland High School and I started getting involved in the community. I became familiar with Goochland Free Clinic and Family Services and served on their board. A year ago I was nominated to the Goochland Board of Zoning Appeals where I currently serve as Vice Chair. I am currently enrolled in the Goochland Leadership Enterprise and have decided that now is the time to continue to give back and to represent District 2 on the Board of Supervisors.
I am looking forward to meeting many more constituents and learning how I can serve you best. Feel free to fill out a comment form or email me at spoonhowerforsupervisor@gmail.com
